He owned it for some time, before it was sold to Jonathan Young Scammon. It was once the largest newspaper company in Chicago. It had an annual circulation of approximately 11 million by 1877. If anyone has stories about this great paper, I would love to hear them!
Cheers--
--Andrew Taylor Call Andrew Callhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13820336937906555806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10923291.post-54473473029142004012015-01-22T23:31:50.111-06:002015-01-22T23:31:50.111-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Andrew Callhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13820336937906555806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10923291.post-89354680833564016482014-09-27T22:42:51.355-05:002014-09-27T22:42:51.355-05:00My great-great-grandfather C.C.Wm. I'm guessing the articles would be in the mid to late 1800's. She lived in Valentine, NE and would submit articles with a theme of life on the prarie. I've never seen any of her articles. Still searching for one.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16350385331665825037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10923291.post-57094573057611767882012-08-01T10:24:33.519-05:002012-08-01T10:24:33.519-05:00Col. My history tells me he represented them at the railway exposition at the Santa Fe Tertio Millennial and New Orleans Exposition. He was secretary of the Press Association at the exposition. The Col is one of my ancestors on my mother's side. He resided in Oak Park, Illinois at the time.Gerri Henneinke Habitznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10923291.post-16852431606579460472012-01-15T14:42:54.313-06:002012-01-15T14:42:54.313-06:00My great-grandfather subscribed to the Inter-Ocean...My great-grandfather subscribed to the Inter-Ocean--his daughter had many clippings in her scrap books.Normahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11502895616873273470noreply@blogger.com
