Chicago architectural coverage withers - AIA/Chicago and Lee Bey to the Rescue?

Things haven't been going well in the world of architectural discourse in Chicago. Archidose's John Hill - gone. WBEZ's Edward Lifson - gone. The sirens of dance, art and literature have been seducing Chicago Sun-Times critic Kevin Nance away from his original architecture beat.

Can a new website from former Sun-Times critic Lee Bey, and a new magazine from AIA Chicago fill the gap? Read all about it here.

Well, my comment on Lee's site now seem rather odd but...

Thanks for this. I look forward to Chicago Architect! My next stop tonight will be to tell them I am available to help in any way possible.

Lynn, I just found your blog last week while looking up some things on Mies (Crown Hall according to my Google Desktop). What a great site!

Hello all.My Name is Walter D.Anderson, and I just started looking for my grandfather Walter Lee Bailey for my mother and myself on Wed. and came across Walter T. Bailey, who may possibly be my great great grandfather. The places he worked and lived as far as Ark./Ten. and Ill. would fit into the places tha we las tknew my grandfather was,My mom was norn in Ark.and we know that Walter Lee moved to Chicago in the late 50's early 60's.WT may be his grandfather, and it would make sense personally why I've had these design ideas birthing in my spirit over the last yr. and a half, which has caused me to return to school. So if at all possible, any information that you could forward to me concerning Mr.Walter T.Bailey would be SOOOOO appreciated! My birth name is Walter DePree Bailey and I was adopted by my aunt in 4th grade, hence Anderson. It's exciting and interesting to read what Mr. WTB did,he was an underground pioneer , an archtitect on many levels, even if we are of no relation, to find out more about this man is a burning desire I have now.So PLEASE, any and all information would be GREATLY appreciated, as my grandfather and his side of the family are a complete mystery to my mom, my brother and myself. My email address is jahzbird7@yahoo.com.THANK YOU ALL who may help my family in this endeavor, and may blessings be upon your lives.
