This reminds me of an theater event improv everywhere did in New York in which about 40 participants each occupied a window bay in a large multistory department store and performed a dance routine. The video is on youtube and quite enjoyeable, as are their other events if you are interested.
The Improv Everywhere piece is called Look Up and was done in Union Square. Very entertaining. Their website has all of their events posted, including ones performed in Chicago.
