I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing a friend is always difficult.
yeah, I've been there a lot, and although they say it's just a pet, it's tough...

I was once told that having a pet is an act of bravery, because you choose to love something that you will one day lose. My sincere condolences.
We have several we adopted as adults, so it seems like one is always ready to go.
It's never easy but it's always worth it.
