This Saturday, June 9th, from 7:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Gallery @ Living Room Realty, 1530 West Superior, Soiled magazine is hosting"a cultural event that features interactive exhibits related to our print content." Soiledis an architectural periodical. It investigates latent issues in the built environment and the politics of space. Published twice per year on each solstice, SOILED is available in both a print edition and as a free downloadable PDF via our website (www.soiledzine.org). Our third issue, entitled Platescrapers, investigates the relationship between food culture and the built environment. Platescrapers navigates itinerant fare, comestible politics, and gastro-ritual to purvey stories about social issues and exaggerated realities. Each story illustrates food as a monument to galvanize the public.
The latest issue, Soiled Un/Earthed - as well as the exhibit - features the work of Stewart Hicks, Allison Newmeyer, Joseph Altshuler, Annie Lambla, Thomas Hillier, Greg Corso, Kyle Andrew Sturgeon, Eylül Kethüda Wintermeyer, Francesco Vedovato, and Katherine Darnstadt.
You can check out a preview of the current issue here.
